Hilary Swank Is Betty Anne Waters Now Filming - Wednesday October 1, 2008Oscar winner likely to bother the Academy againBased on current momentum Hilary Swank will star in roughly 4,723 films next year. She's now added another to her slate, reports Variety. The dual-Oscar winner and former Karate Kid is to star in Betty Anne Waters, a true-life drama to be directed by Tony Goldwyn (who has made a solid career for himself as a director, but will always be the bad guy in Ghost in our minds).
Swank will play a single mother who puts herself through law school in order to help free her brother, whom she believes has been wrongly imprisoned for murder. To add to the Erin Brockovich-ness of it all, Waters waited tables when not studying to be become a legal eagle. The Academy voters are going to love this one.
