Jeffrey Dean Morgan To Join Red Dawn Now Filming - Monday September 14, 2009Watchmen's Comedian signs up for a remake of Red DawnSource: Coming SoonJeffrey Dean Morgan, who won plaudits for his memorable turn as the Comedian in this year's Watchmen, is moving very quickly between his roles as a superhero these days. Morgan is in final negotiations to star in a remake of John Milius' 1982 film Red Dawn in a project helmed by Dan Bradley and a cast including Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Isabel Lucas, Edwin Hodge, Connor Cruise, Adrianne Palicki and Josh Hutcherson.
Red Dawn is the story of a group of teenagers who band together to rebel against the invading forces of a joint Chinese and Russian operation. Morgan will play the leader of a U.S. Special Forces team who discover the group of teenagers, known as the Wolverines, while trapped behind enemy lines.
Having recently finished shooting the thriller The Resident, Morgan quickly moved into production of another comic book adaptation The Losers penned by helmer Peter Berg. Morgan spoke to Coming Soon about his eagerness to move onto something new and his excitement to be working on this particular project "I go to work on something about ten days after I've finished shooting ... it's a remake of a movie that I love... I just love that f**king movie, ever since I was a kid."
The film is currently slated for release in September 2010.
