Next Alvin And The Chipmunks Will Be In 3D Now Filming - Thursday March 11, 2010Fox is following suit with plans for 3D in 2011Source: SlashfilmFox has announced that they will be making a third film in the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise and that it will be in 3D, as seems to be the plan for all new animated features of late.
Alvin, Simon and Theodore will be comin' atcha in a big way in 2011, with their US release date set for December 16, meaning they'll be competeting for the top spot at Christmas with Steven Spielberg's The Adventures Of Tintin: Secret Of The Unicorn, which opens one week later on December 23.
The new sequel will simply be entitled Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D, and there is no further information as yet on writers and director.
