It's unusual for a debut feature to win as much acclaim as Benh Zeitlin's Beasts of the Southern Wild has. To mark its UK release we've ploughed through the annals of movie history to see what advice for Benh we can glean from the careers of directors who've made similarly notable debuts.

Benh Zeitlin's devestatingly accomplished, charming, beautiful and insightful feature debut took first Sundance and then Cannes by storm when it showed to festival crowds earlier this year.
