bigmomma - on 14/01/2009 | A really absorbing film which captures your attention from the first frame. The story of Jamil, Salim and Latika unfolds as a result of Jamil being accused of cheating on the tv quiz show when his winnings stand at 10 million ruppees. How does he know the answers when he has little education and comes from the slums? Questioned by the police inspector he tells his life story one which reflects the hard reality of living in the slums of Mumbai and will make you both laugh and cry. There are some scenes of violence but no bad language. The three young actors who play the the main characters from childhood to adult are well cast and the change from one stage to the other is really smooth. Danny Boyles direction is excellent well worth the ticket price.

| Elizalima - on 24/03/2009 | The movie had me at hello, and I give all the credit to the superb Ayush Mahesh Khedekar, who plays the youngest Jamal. Most of the harrowing scenes from the movie, in addition to the dreadful slums, are part of Jamals childhood, and so, it is this child protagonist who must lay the foundation for the character, and make us believe that everything he is doing is for love for his sweetheart, Latika, which Khedekar does beautifully.

| nelida - on 13/01/2009 | This is a good film, but if you were interested in reading the "Q&A" book, read it before. They inverted some caracters and totaly passed the real book story. Even the caracter spirit is not the same.

| Ernesto - on 24/03/2009 | Like Watchmen a visually dynamic film that deserves much but not all of the credit it has received. Taken for what it is, Slumdog is a sweet and touching film that'll leave you smiling. But don't even dream of digging deeper - this anodyne film is not entirely harmless.
