| Babs - on 15/08/2009 | What a disappointing movie! The book is marvellous with wonderful characters that come to life on the page. I was so thrilled that the film had been made that I was at the first possible showing in my local cinema on 14 August. Audrey Niffeneger's marvellous story has not been been given it's enormous potential. The length of the film made it impossible to even begin to cover in depth the story line. The characters were flat and contrived on screen - in the book they sang from the pages and lived and breathed and made one want to know them. When compared to the latest Harry Potter movie, taking up more than two hours on the screen, to even think that the small amount of screen time given to the Time Traveller's Wifre could do justice is laughable. As a regular film fan, I was so upset at this non-dimensional and very flat representation of a superb story. I doubt it will do well at the box office.
