Brendan is a 12-year-old boy, who is living in Ireland with his uncle, Abbot. Abbot has a firm grip on his nephew, and expects Brendan to follow in his footsteps. Brendan has other ideas however, after meeting Brother Aidan - a master illustrator, who shows him the beauty of art and imagination. With new found inspiration, Brendan breaks free from his uncle and sets off in search of his dream. A journey which enables him to face his fears, and complete one of the most famous, and one of the finest manuscripts from the 9th century, The Book of Kells. |
