A rag-tag band of sackcloth dolls are tasked with saving mankind and the future of the world from an annihilating breed of monstrous machines. This is part Terminator Salvation, part Raggy Dolls, with obvious flourishes from producers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov. 9 takes its name from doll number 9 (voiced by Elijah Wood), who unites the disparate group of humanized burlap effigies to rise through the post-apocalyptic world and bring down the Brain which controls the mecahnised attacks which have caused the end of the human world as it was known.
