When alcoholic CIA operative Osbourne Cox is demoted for drinking on the job, he quits and writes a tell-all book about goings on in the organisation. Meanwhile, his wife Katie is having an affair, and planning to leave Cox, so she steals a disc containing not only the memoirs, but also his financial details. When two dimwitted gymn employees come across the disc after Katie leaves it in a locker, they decide to blackmail Cox to make a quick buck. |

The Sun - The Sneak | Screenrush Barometer: |
| 'Essentially this is a sex farce - an almost extinct breed of comedy sensationally revived by the Coens' brilliantly twisted minds.' |
| The Times - James Christopher | Screenrush Barometer: |
| 'The plot is a total mistake. The characters are madly absurd. The film shouldn't work, but it does. ' |
