Plot Synopsis

In Guatemala, hundreds of people have committed suicide believing the 2012 Hypothesis is true. In reaction to this, a secret organization which realizes the world is going to end sets about constructing massive space arks beneath the Himalayan mountains. When they discover that a global cataclysm will occur faster than expected, they must race to these ships in order to save the human race before all is lost. Amidst all of this, Jackson Curtis (John Cusack), a divorced father and part-time limousine driver, attempts to rescue his ex-wife (Amanda Peet) and children.
