In Tokyo, a young woman (Tamblyn) is afflicted by the same supernatural curse that previously affected her sister (Sarah Michelle Gellar). The curse in question fills a person with rage before spreading to its next victim. This time round, it strikes a group of unrelated people who must come together in order to uncover its secret in an attempt to save their lives. |

The Radio Times - JR | Screenrush Barometer: |
| "Those familiar with the series will find little that's original, as Shimizu shamelessly recycles set pieces from earlier incarnations of the story. Yet his masterful ability to inject even innocuous objects (telephones, wardrobes and shower cubicles) with a foreboding sense of dread delivers some occasional, hair-raising chills." |
| Sight & Sound - Mark Kermode | Screenrush Barometer: |
| "Even his visual skills can't disguise the fact that we really have seen all this before." |
