An adaptation of David Mitchell's novel Cloud Atlas published in 2004, the film follows six different narratives, all interwoven and spanning across various locations and time periods. From the remote 19th century South Pacific to the far post-apocalytic future, each of the 6 tales are told from the characters point of view for a short period of time until we are propelled to the next. The exploration reveals how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future. It shows how a single action can ripple across centuries shaping a soul from a killer to a hero, or inspiring a revolution.
