Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have released a third teaser trailer for their upcoming CGI-animated comedy,
Despicable Me, which you can watch in the player below.
The story is set in a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, which is disturbed by a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbours, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions lives Gru (voiced by
Steve Carell), a diabolical mastermind who is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world... he is going to steal the moon, but he'll have to contend with three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes before he can succeed!
As you'll see, the teaser doesn't really give much away, except showing the simplemindedness of one of the minions, who are described as "hardworking and devoted to their leader and his mad exploits... content to serve as his crash test dummies along the way".
The comedy boasts an all-star cast alongside Steve Carell including
Jason Segel,
Kristen Wiig,
Will Arnett,
Danny McBride,
Russell Brand,
Jemaine Clement,
Miranda Cosgrove,
Jack McBrayer and
Julie Andrews.
Despicable Me is released on July 9, 2010.
