After two deliciously enticing teasers (
and
), the theatrical trailer to
David Fincher's The Social Network has been released to
Yahoo! and is sure to garner yet more interest in this extremely well documented story about Mark Zuckerberg's founding of Facebook.
Actual footage from the movie has now been added to the two previous teasers that whetted the appetite previously, and with
Aaron Sorkin (
A Few Good Men,
The West Wing ) having written the script, it's no surprise that the trailer about the biggest phenomenon since the introduction of sliced bread is rather dramatic. The use of the Belgian Scala & Kolacny Brothers choral version of Radiohead's Creep makes you feel like you are witnessing the end of the world, and with
Jesse Eisenberg scribbling formulae on a window despite being at Harvard University, the one place where one would expect there to be ample paper, the scene has been set for an epic.
David Fincher has turned what might have been an extremely boring, factual tale of a few geeky guys squabbling into one of intrigue, deceit and suspense, and much in the same way
21 glamourised being good at maths, we see the benefits of being a genius start to unfold. Previously untouchable women start to catch your eye in lectures and, according to the trailer, the parties at Harvard back in Zuckerberg's day were legendary. What we see here is a slight dramaticisation of the truth in order to make the story more palatable, and the trailer is most definitely a crowd puller... this will be one to watch.
