Now when it comes to news regarding the eagerly awaited
The Lord Of The Rings prequel
The Hobbit we don't quite know what to think. With financial problems at MGM, the loss of director
Guillermo del Toro and many other road bumps along the way, many of us had almost begun to give up.
However, hope is not lost and new information from
Ian McKellen himself (by way of
The Bolton News) suggests that 'the aim is to start shooting in January'. Now it isn't set in stone and dates have been set for the film before and been changed but there are some other small hints that show that progress is being made. MGM (as it is at the moment) have been actively searching for a Bilbo and have set their sites on
Martin Freeman.
There is still no current director after the unfortunate departure of Guillermo del Toro, whose patience ran out with all the delays to filming, though there are many candidates being considered along with rumours that
Peter Jackson might just go ahead and do it himself.
So there is a light at the end of the tunnel Hobbit fans, hang in there a bit longer. Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below...
