Michael Mann entering talks to develop and direct The Big Stone Grid
Four-time Oscar Nominee Michael Mann is in talks to develop and direct The Big Stone Grid, a spec script that Sony bought last year from S. Craig Zahler. The story surrounds two seasoned detectives who uncover a terrifying and wide-spread extortion ring operating within the underbelly of New York City. Mann will be working closely with Zahler to tweak the script to his liking according to Deadline, and considering his previous thriller hit Heat, which takes place in L.A., we could expect the story to relocate. But before directing what seems to be an exciting film as it is announced to be a mix between Se7en and Marathon Man, Mann has a few other projects directing Go Like Hell, the duel between Ford vs. Ferrari for sports car supremacy in the 60s that he is developing at Fox. And he executive produces the HBO series Luck, starring Dustin Hoffman, which was commissioned for second season alreeady after airing its pilot. We heart, in true Valentine's day spirit, this news and will be following its development closely!
