He's attached to another comic book movie
Josh Trank, the director of found footage hit Chronicle has recently signed on to do another superpowered flick, this time it's an adaptation of Image Comics' The Red Star, says Deadline. Trank is already in talks to make Venom with Sony, and now he's set to do this with Warner Bros.. The Red Star chronicles (heh) an alternate reality where the USSR prospers and people live alongside advanced technology and magic, complete with vengeful gods, flying fortresses and cruel dictators. The project was originally in the hands of Timur Bekmambetov back in 2006, but he went on to make Wanted and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter instead. Jason Rothenberg (who has recently worked on the Twilight Zone script) will write the screenplay. That's all we have for now, we'll be sure to keep you apprised of everything as the film goes into production!
