Check Out First Still Photo From A Field In England

After banging out three feature films in three years, rising director Ben Wheatley is showing no sign of slowing down as his fourth project is already in the works

 

 

We’ve gotten hold of the first released still from Ben Wheatley's upcoming A Field In England thanks to our friends at Film 4. As the title implies, this period piece literally takes place in a large field in England during the Civil War. It follows a group of deserters who, after being captured by an alchemist, are forced to search for hidden treasure supposedly buried somewhere amongst the shrubbery. We can imagine the scope of difficulty in this challenge from the beautifully shot still above which highlights the vastness of the land in question. The ensemble cast includes Michael Smiley, Peter Ferdinando, Reece Shearsmith, Julian Barratt, Richard Glover, and Ryan Pope. Fields is being filmed right on the heels of Wheatley’s dark comedy Sightseers and should be out in cinemas some time next year.
