Gunshots fired at the 'plump peninsula's' Cromer Pier! Former TV personality spotted with rifle! That's right, the Partridge is back and from the look of these photos he means business.

Steve Coogan has been spotted sporting his Partridge hairdo and wielding a rifle on a recent location shoot at Cromer Pier in a happy reminded that Britain's favourite former chat show host is heading for the big screen. As you know doubt know Alan Gordon Partridge first emerged in 1991 on Radio 4's On the Hour as the sports reporter who knew nothing about sports, before moving to television in 1994 as a commentator on BBC Two's The Day Today. His career started to crumble after accidentally killing one of his guests on TV chat-show Knowing Me Knowing You, forcing a move to the graveyard shift on Radio Norwich (Up With The Partridge) before venturing into even darker corners of broadcasting with Midmorning Matters on North Norfolk Digital. But now Alan's back with The Alan Partridge Movie which began shooting January 7and will be hitting UK cinemas in August. Although details of the storyline have been kept top secret, writers Neil and Rob Gibbons have reported that North Norfolk Digital has been taken over by a giant media corporation and renamed Shape. Producer Kevin Loader has also confirmed that Partridge will be ‘chased by a flotilla of police cars and ambulances’ while filming a scene later this week and that Coogan's comic creation will attempt to "salvage his (Patridge’s) public career while negotiating a potentially violent turn of events". Nothing else is known about The Alan Partridge Movie except that co-writer Armando Iannucci has yielded the megaphone to Declan Lowney, but don't panic because August ain't that far away. In the meantime, head over to Digital Spy to see the rest of the pics.
In sexier Coogan news, the King of Soho appears dead center in the latest quad for The Look of Love, director Michael Winterbottm's take on the life of legendary publisher, pornographer and doyen of 1960s London nightlife, Paul Raymond. It’s a 70s-style poster that aside from Coogan features his wife Jean (Anna Friel), his mistress Fiona Richmond (Tamsin Egerton) and daughter, Debbie (Imogen Poots). We don’t know if we’d call it a ‘look of love’, but it's definitely the kind of sleazy and meaty role Coogan was born to play. The film will be released UK cinemas on March 8th.
