Smallville Gets Its General Zod

British actor Callum Blue has signed up for the ninth season of Smallville, landing the pretty darn sweet gig of being the young version of General Zod (played to pantomine perfection by Terence Stamp in Superman II) the man of steels future arch nemesis.

Blue whose previous credits include The Tudors and Secret Diary of a Call Girl should bring with him enough slippery charm to pull off the role suitably well.

Just how the Superman spin off series will go about introducing the General into the show, could prove interesting enough...considering that for all intents and purposes he should be drifting through space trapped in 'the phantom zone'. But we here at Screenrush have faith that everything will go to plan. Honest.
