    Reformatted after original concept was rejected   

    Creator Marc Cherry orignally billed the show as a female oriented comedy but after it was rejected by every network, he reworked it as a night-time soap for ABC.

    Chemistry Lessons   

    Actor Kyle Searles originated the role of John in the unaired pilot of the show, but Jesse Metcalfe replaced him because he lacked sexual chemistry with Eva Longoria, who portrays Gabrielle. Metcalfe began playing the seventeen year-old when he was twenty-five.
