Synopsis   
Picture Toronto in 1895, gas-lit and nestled prettily under the snow... But under this white blanket lies an altogether less quaint reality... Detective William Murdoch is drawn further and further away from the city's genteel parlours as he investigates its cold criminal underworld. His experiments with cutting edge techniques ? fingerprinting, human blood testing, surveillance and trace evidence ? lead him deeper into the heart of each case, followed closely by skilled pathologist, Dr. Julia Ogden.
