Synopsis   
After his wife is killed by a car bomb, detective Monk is forced to quit the San Francisco Police Department following a nervous breakdown. Three years later, the obsessive-compulsive investigator is working as a consultant for his old department, with the help of long-suffering nurse Sharona Fleming. There's no case the fastidious former cop can't solve... Except for the murder of his beloved wife.
